Venerdi 9 ottobre e sabato 10 alla presenza di un folto e qualificato uditorio ha preso il via il corso promosso e diretto dal Prof. Ing. Dario Vangi del Dipartimento di Tecnologia Mecanica della Università di Firenze.

La seconda giornata dei lavori è stata dedicata allo studio dell'investimento dei pedoni.
Nel corso della mattina trascorsa in aula il Prof. Dario Vangi ha illustrato le varie metodologie scientifiche e sperimentali attraverso le quali si può giungere a determinare la velocità alla quale un pedone sia stato investito.
La seconda parte della giornatà è iniziata alla pista di crash test di Sesto Fiorentino ove si sono eseguite una serie di prove.

XIX Conferenza annuale di EVU
Dal 14 al 16 ottobre 2010 a Praga si svolgerà la 19esima conferenza annuale di EVU, che per la seconda volta viene tenuta nella bellissima capitale Ceca.
L'incontro, promosso dall'Università di Ingegneria forense di Brno, verte sui temi:
"Fattori Umani nella determinazione di un incidente stradale"
"Elettronica dei Veicoli"
"Casi Catastrofici"

19th Annual Meeting of the European Association for
Accident Research and Analysis
14th to 16th October 2010, Prague/Czech Republic
There is the second time that the European Association for Accident Research and Analysis (EVU) has given consent for the Institute of Forensic Engineering of Brno University of Technology and EVU Country Group of CzechRepublic for organising an EVU Annual Conference. The event takes place on 14th to 16th October 2010 in the beautiful historical Czech capital Prague.
At the conference time “Human factors within Traffic Accidents” will be one of the leading topics. The organisers and EVU Headquarters would like to encourage all people who want to support our conference to concentrate on this subject, human perception and technical possibilities, physical and psychological aspects of driving. Interesting biomechanical aspects and computer driver modelling will be also kindly welcomed.
We are also planning to extend the scope with papers on “Vehicle electronics”, which support drivers and motorcyclists to improve their active safety (ESP, ABS etc). Also general aspects of motorcycle accidents will be addressed. We will be also interested in “Catastrophic cases”, because these cases demand more comprehensive investigations and sometimes generate interesting proposals to improve safety or regulations.
As we know, very often “Open forum” has delivered very interesting papers, for examplethe presentation of results just-finished researches, which cannot wait for publication in far future. This conference will be the best occasion for publishing these results.
The presentations will be translated simultaneously to English, German and Czech. Conference venue is the Hotel “Prague” (http://www.htlpraha.cz), which will be also the conference hotel. The organisers will provide a cultural program for ladies, and the Gala dinner will be held in famous brewery and restaurant U fleku. For attendees who decided to stay longer, half of Saturday and Sunday will be an occasion for spending a marvellous weekend in Prague.
As the president of the organising committee I’m inviting authors for submitting an abstract with max. 200 words in English and German to the following address callforpapers@evuonline.org. Deadline for submission of abstracts is 31th of January 2010.
Authors of qualified papers (notified at March 19th, 2010) will be asked to deliver full text of paper in English (additional German version is also kindly welcome and preferable) to the 30th May 2010 prepared on the form delivered to authors.
EVU Headquarters firstly decided this year, those papers will be revised by supervisors. Presenters of qualified papers will be discharged from conference registration fee and will attend the competition for the best presentation.
